Classes, Classes, Classes

The summer semester is a couple of classes past the halfway mark and I'm looking ahead to the fall semester. I have three classes that I'm trying to decide between and they are:

1. Ethics (PHI 220) - Provides a systematic study of representative ethical systems.

2. Personal Stress and Stress Management (HLT215) - Provides a basic understanding of stress and its physical, psychological, and social effects. Includes the relationships between stress and change, self-evaluation, sources of stress, and current coping skills for handling stress.

3. U.S. Government I (PLS211) - Teaches structure, operation, and process of national, state, and local governments. Includes in-depth study of the three branches of the government and of public policy.

In light of my recent high blood pressure, the HLT215 class seems like a good idea, but I've been wanting to take the PLS211 class since I heard about it. I'm kind of eh about the PHI220 class. I want to take it, I'm just not in a rush to get to it. It'll all come down to which class (or classes, I may lose my mind for a second and sign-up for two) has an open spot come registration time.

The victor(s) will be decided on July 13th (that's the day early bird registration begins).

Because of Audrey, I'm Going to NYC in October

It came to my attention a few months ago that I was thisclose to paying my car off. A couple of months ago, I decided to take myself to NYC for my birthday. Last week, I was planning my calendar out for the next 6 months (it's a thing) and I realized that my last car payment is due in September. So I decided to move my NYC trip to October as it is the first month I won't have to shell out money for a car note. Oh October, how I am looking forward to you.

Things That Make Me Want to Scream (and not for ice cream either): 1

  • People that don't use their turn signal. I'm not a mind-reader, use your turn signal!

  • People who drag their feet. Unless you're 3 years old and are still working out that whole one foot in front of the other thing, pick up your effing feet.

  • Callers who, when leaving their mailing information, spell "drive" but not the name of the weird city they live in that I've never heard of.

"there's nothing to cry about."

I can't wait for this to come out. I want to see it *now*.

(Is it just me or does Johnny Depp look like a cracked out Elijah Wood?)

A Few of My Favorite Things, Volume I

What am I loving at this moment in time? This:

1. Wendy's Twisted Frosty - omg! The goodness of a Frosty with cookie dough mixed in? Heaven!

2. Year One - Jack Black, Oliver Platt, Michael Cera, Paul Rudd, David Cross, Hank Azaria, Bill Hadar, seriously I could go on and on!

3. 98.9 Liberty - except for their incessant need to play U2, I can listen to this station all day at work. They rarely repeat themselves (at least during my working/listening hours) and they play a good mix of random stuff.

Get on da bus!

As of July 1st, I will be a bus rider. I'm sure I'll have lots of stories from da bus. (I can't stop calling it "da bus" in my head.) Also, riding the bus will save me 40 bucks a month. Sweet!

Have an organ removed, get flowers

Turns out that when you have an organ removed (like your gallbladder, more on that later), people will bring you flowers!

Angie brought me these

Just slap some paper on it!

Apparently papering stuff is my thing. I papered the inside of my medicine cabinet and then I papered the back of the front door. Or the other way around. I forget. Funnily enough one is totally unrelated to the other. I got the idea to paper the medicine cabinet from a design blog. I got the idea to paper the back of the front door from the movie Failure to Launch (Kit's front door is papered and I LOVE IT!).

I was so excited to paper the front door that I kind of forgot to take a before picture. Use your imagination. Here's the back of the front door, in all its papered glory.

Weekend Project No. 1

I have no television so how do I entertain myself? By doing stuff around town, or reading one of my many books, or sleeping. Sometimes, I attack my apartment.

One weekend I decided to update the inside of my medicine cabinet.

My Plain Jane cabinet

My Sassy Jane cabinet

UPDATE: After living with it for a bit, I had to take the paper off the shelves, just the shelves. It was just too much. It looks calmer now. If I ever remember to take a picture, I'll post it.
